Dv Camcorder With Microphone Jack
Mini-DV or HDD camcorder w / mic inputs and manual focus under $ 500?
Augh! I'm just going crazy! I'm trying to find a good, solid, but relatively simple video camera. Trying to keep it under $ 500, and there certainly are a lot of cameras in this price range ... but I can not find one that has a microphone input! Why on earth are companies that do not also this cheap feature on most cameras today? Here is the type of camera I'm looking for:-Preferably Mini-DV, even on an internal Hard camera would suit me just fine for-Ability to adjust focus manually (I know most cameras have this ... it easier to adjust better) microphone input. I want a lot of control on the sound in my work, and an external microphone is often the best way to gå.-Headphone jack would be nice to. I have a feeling that I need to to be contiguous to at least $ 800, but I figured it could not hurt to ask!
My Canon Optura 60 has manual focus, mic input, and aperture settings ... but is around $ 600. I would recommend it unless you need a bigger battery, and it is bad lighting indoors. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Optura-MiniDV-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B0007W2H48 footage I shot with it = http://www.youtube.com / watch? v = 4DRnprLTOA0
Some Great Offers On Dv Camcorder With Microphone Jack from Amazon
Here is a list of basic equipment that you need to begin to gather, if you want to market using videos on the web.
1. There are many video cameras or camcorders that will serve you well. However, do not just go out and buy the first pretty one that affects the eye. You'll have to look very hard to find a camcorder which has a MIC IN jack.
Why is it so important? Your videos will sound more professional. If you do not use an external microphone, microphone on the camera will pick up The ambient noise, ECHO in space, and you'll probably sounds like you are inside a barrel when you make your videos. It is very distracting to the listener.
2. If you check carefully, you can find great video cameras on eBay, make sure you get a camera that has an external Mic In Jack. (I'm serious, do not commit the mistake of getting a camera without one.) Start with an affordable used camcorder, if you must. There are many digital video or Mini DV cameras available that will fit the bill. View after PV-GS300 digital video camera. If you look carefully and consistently, you will find them become available for auction on eBay. It should be $ 300 to $ 600 range.
Canon GL2 camera that I use is more than satisfactory. It is a 3CCD MiniDV. They are available for new around $ 2000 and used for around $ 1500 from bhphotovideo. They are also available for much less on eBay.
I would avoid the new AVCHD type video cameras at the moment. Most video editing software will not work with this format yet. You want your camera to record on to Mini DV tape.
Check bhphotovideo for a good selection of new and used video cameras. You can get a warranty with most of your purchases, too.
3. To record that professional sound, a Lavalier microphone is the best choice. A Lavalier microphone which is very affordable, the Audio-Technica Omni ATR35s. It works well and has a very long cord so you can run it up your shirt and even down your pant leg.
Check microphones on eBay You'll find one for around $ 25. It works great, too. (Remember, this is why you were smart and bought a camcorder with an external microphone connection.)
4. Do not forget, video lighting is important for success in video production. We have all seen too many videos that were lighted poorly on YouTube and many other video sharing sites. The common errors are: * Not enough light - too many shadows * Back lighting from a window, which faces to be in shadow * Fuzzy images because the aperature is wide open, and there just is not enough light to do the job * No tripod staff to help with firmness in the picture * Poor color accuracy because of bad light color temperature. Room lights look yellow in many videos
To resolve this problem, the light simply and cheaply. Here is a reasonably simple system that you will find works fantastically well. Be careful: Do not accidentally buy a lighting system designed for still images. You want a steady light for video. Again, on eBay you can get these lights: PHOTO LIGHTING BOX - Photobox video umbrella photography 2 Stands, 2 Light Holders, 2 Photobox, 2 lamps, 1 case for about $ 150 to $ 180 Mine is from StillShot2 and they are an excellent value.
We are almost finished with the list. Hang in there.
5. Then you need a tripod. While you're at it, get a fluid head tripod. It helps when you are panning a scene. This type of fixture is not much more expensive than a regular tripod, but it is important to make good videos.
OK, this is the last element.
6. Sony Vegas Video 8 or 9 software is fantastic. (You can probably get by with the non Pro version.) It is easy to learn and very rewarding. It will be able to do much more than you probably need - certainly in the first. Here is a logical comparison for you to consider. If you use Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Words, you probably spend 20% of total capacity in either Excel or Word. This is also true of Sony Vegas Video. You do not have all the features of the software, but as time yesterday, you can actually use other capabilities. If you have a Mac, Final Cut Express is the way to go.
