I'm trying to film a project and my MiniDV camera is not showing a picture.?

It is a Samsung MiniDV camcorder and am trying to film a video with a friend. The camera is turned on fine, everything works fine, but when I try to film it looks as though the lens cap is still on. It is black. The display shows (in menu), just not in the picture. It is not work in a state, except when I'm an old tape. What can be wrong and how can I fix it? I have raised a few hours for a friend's house for this project and it will work tonight. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! Oh, is the model SCD103.

Question about my camcorder?

I have a Sony DCR-DVD201E camcorder. I just bought some discs for it and I've already used a disk (these is DVD-R/RW ones). The store manager said that these discs can be used again and again, so I can record then delete and then re-record over it. But I have already spent up everything, and I want to re-record over it but do not know how. I've been in the SET UP, but can not find anything, and also FINALIZE, but it keeps just saying "Already closed "or something, and the EDIT button does not do anything when I play the video again. What should I do? I tried rewinding it, but it does no.

The answer to this question will help to determine the basic type of camera you want. A simple, automatic, point-and-shoot camera is best for many people, but works against a producer of independent film producers in the grass.

Recording Format
