Best Professional Hd Camcorders
Some questions about buying a professional camcorder for film and documentary making.?
I want to make some movies and documentaries also with effects and such, green screen, and everything else. I think I already know what computer and software for video editing, I will come for i7 processor and Adobe. I do not know hardly anything about professional camcorders. I have an amateur consumer SD HDD camcorder Sony right now. I am glad to have a professional HD cam. I are not sure what the differences are between the consumer and pro? I do not know what features I need and do not want to be sorry after you have purchased? Or what is the best cam or at the best price? Can you help me out just to tell me about these cams and what is important to know which is best, and all the detailed insightful information I can get would be very helpful THANKS!
The typical differences: Consumer: lacks manual controls for zoom, sound, focus, aperture, white balance, etc., on the outside of the camcorder. The manual capability may be available but access via menu / options system. If there is a focus / zoom ring, it is a single split ring that can do one or the other - not both - most have no ring and using a rocker switch. Prosumer / Pro: Controls for zoom, sound, focus, aperture, white balance, etc., on the outside of the camcorder. Some settings access via the menu - but they are not commonly used products or items that require adjustment in the middle of a scene or shot. Focus, zoom and aperture are separate ring / control. Consumer: In your hard disk drive (HDD) and flash-memory environment, save very highly compressed MPEG-2 standard definition video or in cases of high definition, very highly compressed AVCHD / MTS files. MiniDV tape based consumer camcorders same to the same high quality DV / HDV formats as their prosumer / pro-siblings. DVD based consumer camcorders use the highest compressed VOB (Standard Definition) or AVCHD (High Definition) format. Prosumer / Pro: Typically, there is no internal hard disk drive prosumer or pro video cameras. If a disk is used, it is external and connects via a FireWire cable to the DV port on the miniDV tape-based camcorder. These external hard drives record on DV / HDV. Some may have a 1 / 8" (3.5mm) audio in jack for low-end wireless connectivity low. DV / HDV / DCVPRO / XD HDCAM tape-based camcorders require editing computer to have a FireWire port to import DV / HDV. USB will not work. USB to FireWire adapter / cable / converter / hub thing will not work. Higher-end pro grade gear user SMTPE Timecode of audio sync and other imprtant timing lines. Panasonic AG-HVX200, Canon XH and XLH series and JVC GY-series. If you live in standard def field, then Panasonic AG-DVX100 and Canon GL2 and XL2 ... and Sony DSRPD170. You will also want mics (I use a shotgun, wireless Lavsen and a stereo consenser MIC), a good sturdy tripod (Bogen-Mafrotto and Libec are good starting points) and cases (I Pelican) ... and cables, etc. .. You can easily spend more on accessories than the camera itself. Then there is the editing environment ... Is your computer up to the task? HDV is pretty resource intensive ... LOTS of CPU cycles, lots of RAM and plenty of available external hard drive space.
