what the best way to make a video camera waterproof?

I need to swim across a pond with my camera to get to a small island where theres cliffs.and so my friends and I plan to jump out, but I need to find a way to be able to bring it so we can film.i thought like wrapping it in a couple bags, but I dont really want to take the chance to destroy it.
