Is there a way I can record / Dub scenes from movies on my computer?
What I'm not trying to do is out & out movie / piracy ..... I'm just trying to make a "favorite movie scenes" video on my computer, which displays a collection of some of my personal favorite movie scenes / lines through the years. (I'm a certified movie nut!) I try to DUB a VHS or DVD using my new Canon camcorder to a digital format ... and looked at my computer to edit it all together .... but I get the message that says "copyright" or something like that. Anyway to bypass this thing? Again ,.... i not look at it as a kind of "piracy" .. cuz it's my own personal use, entertainment ...... not out to make a profit or something .... just for fun! So ... if I have not stepped over the ethical line here ...... HELP! Thank you! ** (I always have to reward the "best answer" points!) How can I do this, anyone? Have any clue?
Two ways to do it. 1. Get a DVD drive to your computer and use DVD ripper software to save disk as a file. But it seems not to VHS, which means that you need # 2: A PC TV tuner card. They can be either externally or internally, but you basically run your RCA cables or coaxial straight into it and then record on your computer. Either option will cost $ 50 - $ 200 I think the TV tuner card is a better idea, it will let you see and record TV on your computer!
