Playing video from Panasonic VDR-D100 on Windows Vista?

I have problems with video playback on my computer. I have about 10 minutes of video, I can play again in the camcorder, but only the first 21 seconds to play on the computer. I have tried both to play the video by putting miniDVD DVD into your computer and connect the camcorder to your computer via USB cable. I am running Windows Vista, with plenty of RAM and free disk space, and opening the video in Windows Media Player, Windows Movie Maker and Roxio Create unsuccessfully. I have tried finalizing the DVD, but it says disk can not be completed. The disk was formatted in VR mode.

try to connect the camcorder to your computer with an aperture and it will play into the new video. This is sure to be the correct format. Dazzle online costs about $ 30

How a camcorder works is by recording audio and video and then save them to a storage device by creating your own movies / videos and capturing life on video.

Earlier models of camcorders only recorded to VHS videotapes, and they were so big and bulky that they were driving around on a cart. These camcorders was mostly used by professionals for broadcasting via television. But those days are over. With the technological development came digital and with digital came the digital camcorder.

Today digital camcorders available in small handheld devices that allow everyone to record and make video recordings, and their popularity continues to grow as they quickly make their way to more and more homes where families use them to capture their lives on film.

For gear heads and technophiles, there is something mystical at work in most digital equipment. But for the average consumer, even basic operations can be confusing. Here is a look at how a few different types of digital camcorders work.

Understanding how cameras work is to look at the three components they consist of: Lens, Imager and Recorder.

As with film cameras and analog video cameras, digital camcorders use a lens to see the images they record. These lenses transform the various elements of the image in front of the camera information that can be processed and recorded. In a video recorder, these lenses focus the light-intensity colors on a semiconductor image sensor. This sensor called a charge-coupled device or CCD. Jo more such a camera has, the better the picture quality. The final step in digital video camera operation is what separates them from older camcorders. The information is transformed into bytes of data. Contrast and colors become binary code (1s and 0s), and these data are stored as digital video.

Video cameras recorded images show through a flat LCD function which comes with most camcorders today. These screens are a big reason why digital camcorders have become so popular because the recording is easy and fun when you're able to see what is recorded on the LCD screen in real time.

An important part of how cameras work when the recorder provides complex signaling functions that capture video signals and then transmits them to the recording medium, such as DVD or MiniDV tape. Recording and storage device is an important element to usability of camcorders.

DVD Camcorders: One of the most popular camcorders today is the DVD type that can play video on a DVD player via the digital video camera recording and burning directly to DVD.

Three types of DVD media available: DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM. DVD-R is a recordable DVD format a write-once only capability. DVD-RW is a DVD, but it allows rewrites and so provides unlimited writing to same disk. DVD-RAM - DVD Random Access Memory is a DVD disc that can recorded with the deleted information, and recorded again.

There are two versions of DVD digital camcorders: one that works with rewritable DVD-RAM / R discs, which requires a DVD player with RAM playback or a PC with a DVD-RAM drive, and the second operates through the more popular DVD-R/RW discs that work with most general DVD players.

There are several other recording and writing formats available in digital camcorders. MiniDV, Micro, HDD, HDV, Digital 8, VHS and Flash Memory Drive.

Camcorders are wireless and they work by getting their electricity source from special batteries. Generally different models of camcorders have different battery capacity which allows varying volume recording on a fully charged battery. The two most common rechargeable batteries are NiCd and lithium ion. The lithium are usually preferred because they charge faster, are easier than others and have a longer life. Most full charges give a battery 6 hours of life.

Today digital camcorders are commonplace. They can be used everywhere, from family picnics and birthday parties for those news headlines you see where a passer-by was able to capture some extraordinary circumstances such as natural disasters, police officers beating a suspect or videos found on the infamous YouTube website.

Regardless how many features you choose or how complicated your digital video camera, most are very user friendly, and their popularity is mainly centered in how digital camcorders provide a user friendly video recording experience for all.

Digital camcorders come with various price tags from hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on device functions, the clarity of sound and video quality provided, and the company producing it. Something to think that in the world of the Internet many sellers and merchants compete for your business and lots of money can be saved by avoiding retailers and purchasing digital camcorders at a discount.

The Panasonic HDC-HS200 80GB HDD Full HD video camera or HDC-SD20 Full HD camcorder? Best Answer 10 points!?

Would I need a fast computer to edit and produce the captured files? Would a Quad-Core 2.8GHz 4GB RAM 27-inch iMac to do? Furthermore, both cameras are good at: 1 Wide Angle Shooting? 2. Low Light? 3. Is admission for a good hard drive? 4.Image Stabilization 5th In bright sunlight 6th How can you burn the captured video? Blu-ray? DVD? or other? 7. Zoom? (not digital) 8 Video Lamp Thanks a lot!

Go try the shop, I did try in stock, and I was not impressive, I think it performs worse than the Canon, Sony, Sanyo and even JVC. Is kinda hard to control and the resolution is a bit low, I recommed you either get a good value or VH1 Sanyo HD2000 or spend 1k for a very good package Sony HD camcorder, which offers nearly vision, high-def LCD, geo tag, better photos and video, I think sony to do almost everything you can ask for, nothing second video camera can do almost inflaed which easily shoot at night need not nigh goggle! As for photographic evidence of the camcorder, JVC is the best in its class, it shoots image so quickly to surprise mee, I was shocked it faster than most point and shoot I know. video quality is medi-core but boy is affortable. I am sure Panasonic has not given you a good video quality, but I think a little more for high def lcd is important, so you know what is the quality you shoot on the LCD instead of waiting for TV view. I hate when I see something I like in lcd, but proves far worse in the big screen. Your Mac should handle fine.

MiniDV: Since its launch in 1966 MiniDV has become the standard format for consumer and semi-professional camcorder users and is still the standard by which other formats evaluated. Ribbon format provides the best image quality and PCM stereo audio in CD quality and can record 60 minutes at best quality.

MiniDV tapes use roughly the same size as a box of matches. This has enabled camcorder manufacturers over the years to reduce the size of video cameras to their existing "pocket size".

Recorded footage can be transferred from MiniDV one of three ways. First as a composite analog signal using composite AV leads, partly as an S-video analog signal, and finally as a DV signal.

The DV signal is transmitted via the DV-out port, also known as a FireWire port, or IEEE1394, and also as i.Link and associated to the computer with a FireWire cable. When transferring your recordings by this method, there is no loss of quality in picture and sound, and that is what makes this format so popular.

Virtually all MiniDV camcorders have a DV-out port and a better quality of them will have a DV-in port for transfer of edited footage back to the camcorder. Although other formats are more popular MiniDV still has plenty of life ahead of them yet, and camcorders are good value for money.

DVD: DVD is growing in popularity, and invokes a greater share of the market, since it was introduced in mid 2001. The main advantage of DVD camcorders is convenience. Record your footage on the disc, remove it and play it on your DVD player without cables or connectors.

DVD camcorders use 8 cm discs in a variety of recordable formats. DVD-R is a single using the disc compatible with all DVD players and used by all camera manufacturers. DVD-RAM is a rewritable disc, which offers in-camera editing and supported by Hitachi and Panasonic. DVD-/ + RW is a second rewriteable format and is supported by Sony.

Originally there were disc compatibility issues with DVD players, but most DVD players will now play a variety of discs and some camcorders offer multi-format capability to make them more flexible.

DVD camcorder's performance has improved dramatically since its introduction, but still has drawbacks. Discs can only record 18 minutes of the best quality video and editing is not as easy as miniDV but easy to use DVD format is a good choice.

HDD: Hard disk drive is the latest format to be used in camcorders. Originally introduced by JVC, but now supported by other manufacturers. Hard drives are currently as large as 30GB and can store 35 hours of standard recording mode and up to seven hours at best quality.

Hard drive camcorders are yet to match the quality of MiniDV but their performance is impressive, and undoubtedly will be even better. With almost no moving parts, HDD camcorders are very compact and could well replace miniDV as primary format.

One obvious not with HDD camcorders is when the hard disk is full recordings are retrieved or overwritten. It may not be a big problem unless you're on vacation for some time and away from your computer.

Memory: Camcorder manufacturers have made a digital stills function with their camcorders some time now. The stills are recorded on a memory of the one or the other, which fits into a slot in the camcorder. Cameras are now offered to record video to memory card

Memory cards are usually only 1GB so quickly filling up, even though the video is stored in highly compressed MPEG4 format. A good supply of cards is required for any long recording. But this format is convenient for posting to the Web or send via email. Because of the compression image quality is inferior to other formats.

As video is stored on the card memory stick or memory card camcorders are generally the smallest type on the market, and is suitable as a pocket camera. Ongoing developement has already led to the MPEG2 video format used by DVD and HDD camcorders. The SDHC card has recently been developed to offer sizes up to 32 MB.

DVD-Ram Question?

Hello, I bought a DVD-RAM disc in a cartidge this http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/43/DVD-RAM_FUJIFILM_Disc-removalble_With_cartridge-locking-pin.jpg/555px- DVD RAM_FUJIFILM_Disc-removalble_With_cartridge lock pin.jpg If I take the disc out of the case will I be able to use it in my camcorder (which is a DVD-RAM compatible video camera) Thanks

As long as you are sure your camera supports DVD-RAM and disk can be removed from the cartridge without damage, it should work with no problem. I have not confirmed this myself.
