Is there anyone who has bought video equipment from soniccameras.com site and your experience?

I'm looking for a Canon HG10 Hard Disk Drive High Definition Camcorder. I found most others know sites sell it around. $ 800.00, but this site has it in stock for less than $ 500.00 It stated the camcorder carry a 1 YEAR USA warranty. I have never bought anything from this site, please help .... thanks

This place and their associated Web sites deserve their three minutes of fame - as an investigating fraudsters IN NEWS segment. DO NOT DO IT! They appear to scam artists who resembles bestpricecameras.com and approximately 20 other stores in Brooklyn. Not sure if whether they are the same people, but I would not be surprised. Here's what they do:-You place your order online with your credit card nummer.-you email, you said they need you to call to confirm your ordre.-You call and they tell you that STANDARD (according to the manufacturer) battery and charger are NOT included and they cost extra (making the total cost higher than what you would pay a reputable dealer) .- If you do not take the "upgrades", the camera will magically become out-of-stock and your canceled order, but they still have YOUR credit card number! Some victims have found fraud consultant purchases on their credit card after purchase (or the cancellation of purchase). ~~~~~~ Just do not. Go to B & H instead. I've never had a problem with B & H, except for one small mistake by a vendor on a software version. The problem was easily fixed. Other than that, all my contacts with them have been perfect. I'm surprised these guys are still in business. The NYPD (and maybe the FBI and Department of Homeland Security??) Should all of them.

Sony HDR-HC7 or Canon HG10 or Canon HV10? Which one is better? I want to edit videos on my computer but i dont know how to do it with tape camcorders. I have Sony Vegas Pro 8

MiniDV tape based camcorders transfer digital video tape data via FireWire. Your computer needs a firewire port - USB will not work. A USB FireWire adapter / converter will not work. Firewire400, IEEE1394a, DV and i.LINK are all the same things. The camcorder's DV port is a 4-pin firewire port. Whether the other side of the FireWire cable must be 4-pin or 6-pin depends on the computer's FireWire port. I recently got a 10 foot FireWire 400 cable from Belkin. How do I copy the video from my camcorder to a DVD?

I have a Sony camcorder (digital) can record on a mini DV cassette. I have a PC with a DVD-ReWriter drive and a cable to connect the two. I have also installed the driver for your video camera and some of the software, but it only seems to record in mp3 format to my PC and not directly to a DVD. This uses up so much space and still no copy on DVD! whatcan I do?

I copy from a Sony Mini-DV camcorder directly to a Sony DVD recorder via Firewire (iLink) and avoid the PC completely .. You can copy on the fly. You control the camera via the DVD recorder. very easy
