Hi, I have a sony digital 8mm handicam. It is around 10 years old, but have not seen much use. I have two batteries, one on came with, which is good for about an hour, and the second is good for about three hours. The second battery made by sony for sony so it's not aftermarket. Problem when both batteries are fully charged, they both act as they are about to die. Example, the three hours the battery is fully charged, after reading it reads 2:56, thats two hours and 56 minutes when fully charged. Then when I use said battery works fine in about ten minutes, then shuts indicating low battery charge. The battery that came with your camcorder does immediately. Why is this? Thanx, Robert

Has any one used either the Roxio Creator or honestech VHS to DVD?

I'm looking to convert VHS home movies to DVD and also do minor editing (i.e cutting out weird scenes of our floor and camera bag) I need something that can capture from a VCR or a camcorder. I have a pretty decent laptop with DVD burner and windows movie maker so editing software isn't an issue. I have already tried Pinnacles Dazzle and it is horrible with no tech support.(3 unanswered inquiries) so any info would be great!

I agree Dazzle and Roxio have terrible quality.

I had my home movies converted with a video transfer company called StashSpace. They have an online editor so you can combine footage across tapes and cut out bad stuff. You can get DVDs or just have the digital files sent back to you on a portable hard drive.

Faciliteterne på Bhartendu Academy of Dramatic Arts er fantastisk; Jeg vil sige verdensklasse selv. Den største produktion studiet er meget veludstyret. Q: Hvad er din stillingsbetegnelse? Hvor er du ansat?

A: Director's kameramand, direktør for fotografering. Jeg har mit eget firma, Rajiv Jain Films, filmvidenskab og greb, og jeg har gjort det i omkring femogtyve år.

Indian Director of Photography, Rajiv Jain, ICS WICA er en Filmfotograf baseret i Mumbai, Indien. Rajiv specialiseret sig i skydning tv-reklamer i 35mm film filmformat samt HD Digitale formater. Rajiv: Jeg ville være forfatter, men som Mohan Rakesh Jeg tænkte for meget og skrev for lidt. Det er også sige, at jeg var mere en læser derefter en forfatter, mere akademiker derefter digter. Rajiv: Jeg blev meget interesseret i at forstå, hvordan i at ændre lys, komposition, kameravinkler og kamera bevægelse en filmfotograf ændrer en publikum opfattelse af det visuelle begivenhed, og dermed publikums emotionelle reaktion. Det er en vanskelig ting at kvantificere. Jeg husker specielt tænker tilbage til at se Pather Panchali da jeg var barn, og hvordan dens billeder havde altid været i min fantasi, ikke kun for deres rene skønhed og sublim skala, men fordi de ramte mig følelsesmæssigt, slående nogle ubevidste, men lydhør ledningen. Den denotative (specifikke) eller connotative (symbolsk eller stiltiende) betydningen af et billede kan være tvetydig, men også komplekse. Måske den bedste litterære analogi er Haiku digt. Jo færre ord har større potentiale betydning - jo flere ord, der er tilføjet i længere litterære former, de mere specifikke forstand. Et billede tilbyder både specifikke og ikke-specifikke betydninger. Det kan arbejde med mange lag, bevidst og ikke.

SPØRGSMÅL: Har du nogen mentorer eller var du helt selvlært?

Rajiv: Jeg har lært en masse fra andre DP's. Men det er først og fremmest at studere deres arbejde. Ashok Mehta og jeg taler en masse, og han har givet mig meget. Men jeg var selvlært. Jeg har studeret kunst i udstrakt grad, især begyndelsen af det 20. århundredes kunstnere, og slutningen af det 19. århundredes kunstnere. Jeg lærte en masse om lys fra dem. Rajiv: Ikke rigtig. Ingen af mine film ligner musikvideoer, men de store ting om musikvideoer var at vi kunne eksperimentere med forskellige belysning, film lagre, linser og filtre. Vi beslutter at forsøge at sætte fire filtre på objektivet, kraft proces filmen, eller sætte en negativ gennem en vending film postproduction proces for at se, hvordan det kommer ud, og derefter prøve det igen den anden vej rundt. Det var en fantastisk måde at lære på.

SPØRGSMÅL: Er der andre filmfotografer hvis arbejde du følge?

Rajiv: Jeg kan nævne alle de indlysende navne, men sandheden er, jeg lære fra alle filmfotografer. Jeg kan se et tv-program skud af en 29-årig filmfotograf og finde noget, som han eller hun gjorde, som er ganske interessant. Jeg er hele tiden at lære fra andre mennesker. Jeg har stadig læse hvert magasin og tidsskrift om filmproduktion og fotografering, at jeg kan lægge mine hænder på. Jeg har stadig studere kunst. Jeg indsamler bøger af fotografer og malerier. Men det er ikke bare det gode arbejde, som andre gør, at jeg lærer af. Jeg lærer af mine egen fejl, at jeg har haft rig lejlighed til at gøre i løbet af de sidste 20 år. Da min søn Adam var i syvende klasse, han skrev et essay, hvor han var forpligtet til at sige, hvem han var helten. Han sagde det var mig. "Min far er min helt, fordi han messer op hele tiden, og han lader mig se det." Så jeg føler ok omkring griseri oppe. Jeg tror, det er en enormt vigtig lektie, som lære. Jeg er altid interesseret i at gøre nye og anderledes ting. Hvis projektet er meget gerne, hvad jeg har gjort før, og scriptet er ikke stor, så er det mindre sandsynligt, jeg vil være interesseret. SPØRGSMÅL: Hvad vil du sige til studerende og andre unge filmskabere, når de spørger dig til at dele hemmeligheden bag succesen? Gøre du fortæller dem sandheden om de odds?

Rajiv: Jeg tror, du er nødt til at være tålmodige, og ikke lade dig tro, at tingene kommer til at ske hurtigt. Du har brug for integritet og ærlighed om, hvem du ønsker at blive. Denne måde, selv om du dumper, kan du ikke med en vis værdighed. Hvis du kompromis og ikke, hvad har du tilbage?

Rajiv om rådgivning for unge, håbefulde fotografer:

Et råd for alle fotografer er at være meget opmærksomme på den digitale tidsalder, at à ¬ s ret oven på os, men stadig forblive tro mod filmen på dette tidspunkt og måske eksperimentere med begge. Jeg har gjort det med min sidste tre eller fire film, og jeg vil gøre det igen med min næste. Det à ¬ er rigtig smart at lave film for at kunne bruge den digitale teknologi til at manipulere billeder. (Med hensyn til at hjælpe mig med at træffe beslutninger på dagen skyde), jeg gemte skyde Kalpvriksh Ã-gennemsnit omkring 10 minutter om dagen ved at træffe beslutninger som:

Som for en karriere, er jeg stadig regne det ud selv. Jeg kan huske at lytte til Filmfotograf Ashok Mehta om, hvordan han kom til det punkt, endelig skyde funktioner. I bought a Samsung 173 MiniDVD DC this weekend and I want to go back to a MiniDV.?

Does anyone have Panasonic PV GS85? I will return for Samsung to Circuit City and will be charged a restocking fee need to buy it there. I had almost bought this one before I settled on a MiniDVD, but I keep having problems with burning, I want a more mild burning ... I mean, to put in my computer, using simple software and then burn it to a DVD if I want too. MiniDV will be the format for me or should I keep it out of this current camera I own? I can not give what is on the disks On the computer where I can do something for them, edit them and then burn. I can see miniDVD on standard DVD and the computer itself, which is nice, but I can not burn miniDVD to a second DVD. I really want the info on the disk in your computer, so I can do this.

Go with MiniDV. I work with MiniDV everyday life, because it is actually better clarity and also with the tape vs. disk you get half an hour more on Standard Play. Sure theres the luxury of seeing disks when they are finished, but if you think about it, you see things that can be easily edited with a DV camera. It can be a pain in the butt at first, but it's fun, and when finished with editing, you can see the whole movie in one without having to worry about fast forwarding or skipping some useless stuff. How do I use a camcorder to make a home on a DVD?

I have a Panasonic NV-GS31 video camera and all my home videos are on mini-DV tape. I have an HP Pavilion desktop with Windows Vista, which I had planned to use. Software is Windows Movie Maker. So my problem is that I dont know how to connect my camera to my PC. The manual book says I need a DV cable. Where can I get it? and will work after this? Thanks for your help.

raitoxoda and chaos are correct ... but not be complete answers to your questions. All miniDV tape based camcorders transfer DV format video from the camcorder to your computer via a FireWire connection between the camcorder's DV port and the computer's FireWire port. We do not know who HP Pavilion desktop you have, but chances are good that if it does not already have a FireWire port, will be a free PCI slot, so you can easily add one. PCI firewire card pretty cheap, too. Firewire, DV, i.Link and IEEE1394 is all the same things. With the camcorder connected to your computer with the FireWire cable and the camcorder in "Play" mode, launch MovieMaker and "Capture" the video from the camcorder. Edit. Save. Then, using a DVD authoring program such as WinDVD or Nero, you will have the computer do the video project into a format that your computer's DVD burner will burn a DVD that will play in a ordinary DVD player ...
