Downloaded camcorder drivers, but computer won't recognize?

I went to Panasonic website to d/l the latest drivers for my digital camcorder. It acted as though it downloaded, I ran the program, asked to restart computer, etc. When I restarted and connected the camcorder via USB, it stated that it could not find software necessary for the camera?? What could be causing this? We've tried this now on 2 different computers.

When you download the drivers put them in a special folder like c:\camcorder and then plug in the camcorder. It should ask if you want to install automatically or if you want to select the driver to install. Tell it you want to select the driver to install. Select the location with the "Browse" button. Point it to C:\camcorder and it should find the drivers you downloaded. Note: You may need to unzip the drivers after downloading. Be sure you unzip them to c:\camcorder and if the file that downloads is an .exe file you will run it instead of doing the steps I described.

How can i capture video with orginal date and time stamp?

i have sony mini-dv dcr-hc38 camcorder. when i play the recorded video on tv from camcorder with av cable, the date & time are visible on tv-sceen. but, when i capture video to computer through firewire in avi format and play back, the date-time do not appear. camcorder settings are ok to record and trasfer date-time stamp.

If you have the option in the menu that you can select ON, it should show it. I find it distracting.

What is the best amateur video camera for projecting a movie on a big screen?

I want to try to make a film to to be projected onto a large screen for a local fringe Filmfest. There is no text, just music overlay. I am quite new here so do not laugh. I have used my flip video For Web and DVDs with success but not sure that works for projecting on a large screen. The application does not mention the 35 mm so I assume that a DVD is fine, but what is the cheapest type of video camera I could use for this because I really have no money. Ps. This does not look professional, I just want to be able to recognize what is on screen, and not get laughed out of place.

They have not provided any budget ... The BEST consumer would be a Canon HV30 or Sony HDR-HC9. BEST "Prosumer" One would be a Sony HDR-FX1000. If the video is captured in good light, almost all camcorders will be fine if the data standard DV or HDV. This includes the Canon ZR900, ZR930 or Sony DCR-HC52. If you have given full video with your Flip - and it looks fine to you on a large television screen * it * should be quite similar to an even larger projected screen. Perhaps there is a nearby electronics store (Fry's, Circuit City, BestBuy, etc.) where you can take your DVD and get them to do a "test" for you to use their test / floor model, video projectors, so you can see for yourself ... If the content is compelling, and well-done, content source (a flip video camera) does not mean anything - and nobody will know what you have spent unless you tell them.

This DVD player belongs to me, and the problem was the tray would jerk when you try to insert or eject the disc, and it can not play the disc also. I personally do not repair DVD and I am more on the computer screen repair. By the way, there is no harm in trying, since it is already broken down. If I can not repair it so I just get a new one because the price had gone down so cheap. Recently I saw an ad selling a new DVD for less than USD25.00-unbelievable, but it was true. After everything was installed (I remember a settled part of the DVD mechanism) for the player worked just fine!

If I never try to repair it would I did not know was the pinion gear problem. This is considered a new knowledge for me, and may be one day a person or your friend's complaint to you that your DVD or VCD's tug hill, I think you know where to check it. Assuming that the problem was the motherboard so I will need to use the helper of a chart to help me to troubleshoot it.

I have a cheap Samsung camera. It records on tape alone. No memory card slot, no hard drive. As I said an inexpensive one. It is a Samsung SC-D372 model. I would like to find out if I could download the video and related audio on my PC. The camcorder works fine when I connect it to a TV, however it did not come with any cable or software to download to a PC. So it's probably not possible. I have a Sony Handycam DCR-SR42 Hard Drive Camcorder. How do I create video's, can upload on youtube? I have Windows XP Home Edition is a software I can use to edit and import video from my Handycam? Why Sony has to do MP3 audio and video to two different files?!

I'm looking for a new mini-DV camcorder. I plan to go to best buy tomorrow to look at them, but I have a few questions. the three cameras im currently looking at are Canon Mini DV digital camcorder, JVC Mini DV digital camcorder, and Panasonic Mini DV digital camcorder. I need it to plug into a Mac with a FireWire cable and work with iMovie. it is easy to use? but quality is most important.

I used a Panasonic camera when I film in school. I now own a JVC, which I am very satisfied. Canon is a great fire, but I do not have much personal experience with their camcorders. Any of these cameras would be a good choice for you. They are all priced fairly. Panasonic and JVC have both FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports, but you will need get your own cable. Canon camera using USB and comes with its own cable. I would prefer FireWire for the longest time when dealing with MiniDV, but USB 2.0 is just as quickly. I personally use HDD instead of MiniDV now, but it is a bit expensive. Canon and Panasonic have better optical zoom than the JVC. They all Night Vision, image stabilization and manual focus. I would probably go with either Panasonic or Canon for the zoom, as the three are essentially the same. If you do not care about zoom (they are all decent anyway), I'd go with JVC and save $ 50.

Still pictures are good at some things, but nothing suggests a high quality recording of audio and video from a special event. For the more advanced user, high end units will provide better optical and video performance through multi-CCD components and name brand optics, manual control of camera exposure, and more, but even consumer camcorders which are sold for $ 1000 is not suitable for shooting in low light. I recorded on a 30 min. DVD using the Sony Handycam DCR-DVD105. I was not aware that since I was recording I went over by almost 1 min. It did not warn me that I only had such and such time back or stop it from shooting, it just kept to go. When I try to close it, it stops halfway through, and will not quit. I can not get it to play on my computer, since it is not finalized, and if I see it on the camcorder itself, it gives me an access error and flashes C: 13:02 ".
