When converting home movies to my computer using a video camera, I only get the video, not audio. Help?

I use Monster Cables (S cable and audio cable) to connect to a capture device (KWorld device with S-cable and red and white connectors) that connect to the USB port on my desk. I only get the video, no sound. I've tried Windows Movie Maker, Arc Soft Video Impressions and Cyberlink Power Producer. All give me the same thing. I selected the USB device for both video and audio source, but what should I do? Thank you.
